Villamagina is a district ( fraction , Italian frazione ) of the Italian municipality Sellano in the province of Perugia in Umbria .

geography

The place is located about one kilometer northwest of the main town Sellano and about 50 km southeast of the provincial and regional capital Perugia . The place is 711  m slm and had about 90 inhabitants in 2001. In 2011 there were 195 residents.

history

The place, then also called Villa Macina or Villa Maina , had 160 inhabitants in 1611, a century later there were 145. The place was known from the 18th century for the production of files and rasps . The place doubled its population between 2001 and 2005 when about 40 new houses and buildings were built.

The Church of San Silvestro
  • San Silvestro , church in the town center. Contains the canvas painting Madonna col Bambino tra gli Angeli (also called Tela del Rosario ) from the late 17th century, the panel painting Risurrezione di Cristo on the wall of the apse , the table cross Tavola sagomata del Crocifisso and the altar dell'Immacolata Concezione .
