List of grape varieties |
Villaris is a white wine with high resistance to the downy and powdery mildew . There is also medium to high resistance to gray mold rot . This is a treatment with pesticides in years with normal weather not necessary. This new breed was crossed in 1984 at the Geilweilerhof Institute for Vine Breeding between the Sirius and Villard Blanc varieties and selected in 2001. Plant variety protection was granted in 2004.
Wines made from Villaris grapes are often reminiscent of white Burgundy wines in terms of smell and taste. The early ripening results in independent wines with an appealing acidity.
