Vincent Gagnier (born July 21, 1993 in Victoriaville ) is a Canadian freestyle skier . He starts in the freestyle disciplines Slopestyle and Big Air .

Career

Gagnier has been participating in the AFP World Tour competitions since 2009 . He achieved his first podium finish in April 2011 with third place in Big Air at the AFP World Tour Final in Whistler . In the 2011/12 season he came third at the New Zealand Freeski Open in Cardrona and second in Big Air at the Jon Olsson Invitational in Åre and the AFP World Tour Final in Whistler . He made his World Cup debut in March 2012 in Mammoth . He finished 55th in slopestyle. The following season he took third place in Big Air at the Frostgun Invitational in Val-d'Isère . At the end of the season he won the AFP World Tour Finals in Whistler and finished third in the AFP World Tour Big Air ranking. In January 2014, he won the silver medal in Big Air at the Winter X Games in Aspen . The following month he took second place at the Frostgun Invitational in Val-d'Isère. At the AFP World Tour Finals he came in third place and ended the season in first place in the Big Air classification. In the 2014/15 season he won Big Air at the AFP World Tour Final and took third place at the Frostgun Invitational in Val-d'Isère and at the Air & Style in Pasadena . In January 2015 he achieved his placement in the World Cup with fourth place in Breckenridge . At the Winter X Games 2015 in Aspen , he won the gold medal in Big Air with 91 points. As in the previous year, he finished the season in first place in the Big Air classification. In the 2015/16 season he took sixth place in Big Air at the Winter X Games 2016 and 13th place at the X Games Oslo 2016 . In February 2016, he won his first World Cup victory in the Big Air competition in Boston .
