Vinegar was a German Krautrock band from Cologne that released an LP in 1971.

history

Vinegar was founded at the end of 1968 by Wolfgang Grahn († 2011), Bernhard Liesegang and Jochen Biemann. In 1969 Dagmar Dormagen († 1974), Rolf Zwirner and Ralf Modrow were also added.

Was played psychedelic rock . At the Photokina 1970 they performed on October 11th in hall 14 at the “Pop Festival in the Action Center” and took third place in the competition there. The present publisher's son Günter Purrmann (wp; Phono Verlag Werner Purrmann, Unterjesingen ) was so enthusiastic about the group that he invited them to recordings, which took place on January 9, 1971 in the studio in Rottenburg am Neckar . The LP was published in the same year in an edition of 1,000 copies, pressed by Teldec in Hamburg on behalf of Phono Verlag Werner Purrmann . It is so sought after today that it is in top condition among collectors at around € 600. In the 1970s, the group broke up.

In 2003 the label Garden of Delights released a new edition of the album as a CD edition and in 2004 a vinyl reprint on the label Amber Soundroom . Both new editions initially appeared again in limited editions and were published in a second edition at the beginning of 2005.
