Vinica is a Croatian- populated municipality in the Tomislavgrad municipality in the southwest of Bosnia-Herzegovina and is located in canton 10 .

Geographical location and climate

Vinica is separated by the Croatian-Bosnian border in Mala Vinica (Bosnian) and Velika Vinica (Croatian) and lies in the transition between the regions of Dalmatia and Herzegovina . The actual resort is located on a plateau (600 650  m. I. J. ), the highest point of the village is the mountain range Zavelim ( 1364  m. I. J. ). The climate in Vinica is largely determined by its proximity to the Mediterranean Sea (as the crow flies to the Adriatic Sea 20 km) and differs greatly from the climate in the rest of the Tomislavgrad municipality. The climate is influenced by the Mediterranean with dry summers and rainy winters and is similar to that of Zagora in Croatia . Because of this, fruits thrive in Vinica, including grapevines (Kujundzusa) that do not thrive in other parts of the municipality.
