Vinjerac ( Eng . Wineratz ) is a small fishing village in Croatia , around 30 km northeast of Zadar in the Northern Dalmatia region . The German name of the place is Kastelwenier , the Italian Castel Venier .
The place lies below the coastal mountain range Velebit and the highway Zadar- Zagreb on the Adriatic Sea. The name is derived from the Venetian noble family the Venier . The Venier family has been the property of the Venier family in documents since 1409.
