The Zadar County [ ˈzadar ] ( Croatian Zadarska županija ) is a county in the Croatian region of Dalmatia . It comprises the northernmost part of Dalmatia around the city of Zadar , the offshore islands and the hinterland from the Adriatic to the border with Bosnia-Herzegovina . It has an area of 3,646 km² and 170,017 inhabitants (2011 census). The administrative seat is in Zadar.
