Posedarje is a municipality in the County of Zadar in Croatia . The place is located at the western end of the Novigrad Sea , around 25 kilometers northeast of the city of Zadar .

The municipality has 3,607 inhabitants (2011 census), an absolute majority of whom are Croatians. Posedarje is known in Croatia and beyond the Croatian border for its pršut (ham), which is smoked with local bushes and woods and thus has an unmistakable aroma. The place was first mentioned in the 12th century.
