Stankovci (Italian: Stancovazzo ) is a municipality in Croatia in the Zadar County .

Location and inhabitants

Stankovci is located on the coastal road from Šibenik to Benkovac about 50 km southeast of Zadar .

The municipality of Stankovci consists of the seven villages Banjevci, Bila Vlaka, Budak, Crljenik, Morpolača, Stankovci and Velim and has a total of 2,003 inhabitants, 688 of whom live in the main town of Stankovici alone (2011 census).

history

In the 16th and 17th centuries Venetians and Turks fought there for the Velim fortress.
