Zemunik Donji ( Italian Zemonico Inferiore ) is a municipality in Croatia .
geography
Zemunik Donji is located about 15 km east of Zadar . The international airport of the city of Zadar is nearby . It is 7 km from the center of Zadar.
The municipality consists of the three places Smoković, Zemunik Donji, Zemunik Gornji and has 2,060 inhabitants, of which 1,540 live in the main town of Zemunik Donji (2011 census).
history
In the early 18th century, dozens of Albanian Roman Catholic families who had fled the Ottomans settled in the village . The local Gegic dialect is now extinct.
