Vinod Dham

Vinod Dham (* 1950 in Pune ) is an Indian computer scientist and entrepreneur . Dham is considered as 'father' of the Pentium - processor .

Life

Dham studied at the Delhi College of Engineering . After completing his studies, he emigrated to the United States and, after further studies at the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati , Ohio , in 1977 he was employed by the US company NCR Corporation in Ohio. He then moved to the US company Intel , where he played a key role in developing the Pentium processor. In 1995 he left Intel and switched to NexGen , where he helped develop the K6 processor , among other things. The company NexGen was gradually taken over by the competitor AMD . Dham is married with two children and lives with his family in California.
