Violent Playground was an American thrash metal band from Fort Lauderdale , Florida that formed in 1987 and broke up in 1988 or later.
history
The band was founded in 1987 by bassist Gerrit, drummer Bobby Sheehan, guitarist Kenny "The Son" Civale and Rocko and Manny (harmonica, vocals). After developing a few songs, they recorded their first and only album Thrashin Blues . The phonogram was recorded at UCA Studios in New York City , produced by The Rods and ex Manowar drummer Carl Canedy , and designed by Ed Repka . The album was released on Big Chief Records in 1988. The band then broke up. Kenny Civale later joined the band Mox Nix and released various solo albums.
Music genre
Metal Rules' JP calls Violent Playground the only band he knows besides Eliminator that has tried to mix Thrash Metal and real blues. Sergeant D of Metal Inquisition called them a band that wasn't afraid to cross genre boundaries.
