Karl Heinz Götze (Germanist)

Karl Heinz Götze , also Karl-Heinz (born September 18, 1947 in Hofgeismar ) is a German specialist in German.

Life

After graduating from high school in Hofgeismar, Götze studied German language and literature, political science, educational science and philosophy at the University of Marburg from 1966 and worked there as a research assistant after the first state examination. From 1974 to 1981 he was editor of the magazine Das Argument . In 1979 he did his doctorate in Marburg on basic positions in literary historiography in the German Vormärz with Jörg Jochen Berns .

From 1980 he worked as a lecturer at the Faculté des Lettres et des Sciences Humaines , Section d'Allemand, the University of Nice and published in various German newspapers and at radio stations. In 1989 he received his habilitation at the University of Bremen and was visiting professor for German studies at the University of Besançon until 1992 and visiting professor in Aix-en-Provence until 1998 . In 1997 he completed his habilitation in France at the University of Montpellier . Since 1998 he is professor of German literature, Geography and History of Ideas at the University of Provence .

Götze has published books on the history of German studies, on the authors Heinrich Böll , Wolfgang Koeppen and Peter Weiss , on France today and on French cuisine.
