Baron Conway
Baron Conway , of Ragley in the County of Warwick , is a hereditary British title of nobility awarded twice in the Peerage of England .
Awards
The title was first created on March 24, 1624 for Edward Conway . On March 15, 1627 he was also raised in the Peerage of Ireland to Viscount Killultagh , of Killultagh in the County of Antrim , and on June 26, 1627 in the Peerage of England to Viscount Conway , of Conway Castle in the County of Caernarvon . His grandson, the 3rd Viscount, was raised to Earl of Conway on April 23, 1679 in the Peerage of England . Since the earl left no descendants, all of his titles were extinguished on his death on August 11, 1683.
In the second award, the title was recreated on March 17, 1703 for the English House of Commons Francis Seymour-Conway . He was maternal related to the late Earl of Conway and had inherited his fortune. On March 17, 1703 he was also awarded the title Baron Conway and Killultagh , of Killultagh in the County of Antrim in the Peerage of Ireland . His son, the 2nd Baron, was raised in the Peerage of Great Britain on August 3, 1750 to Earl of Hertford and Viscount Beauchamp , and on July 5, 1793 to Marquess of Hertford and Earl of Yarmouth . The titles mentioned have since been listed as subordinate titles to the respective Marquess of Hertford.
