Visitors was the name of the Swedish band of singer Göran Danielsson Hjertstedt (born January 15, 1957 in Vingåker ) and keyboardist Svante Persson (* in Malmö , southern Sweden ).

Band history

Persson came to Stockholm in 1985 and quickly established himself as a studio musician . He worked with well-known Swedish musicians such as Tomas Ledin and Eva Dahlgren and became one of Sweden's most renowned keyboard players. During his time as a studio musician, he met Hjertstedt, with whom he founded the Visitors. Both musicians wrote the songs, the lyrics were contributed by Brit Roy Colegate. Roffe Persson was won as a manager. This was followed by the signing of contracts with EMI and Virgin Scandinavia .

In 1986 the first single Do You Wanna Play was released . Other publications followed, such as All of Your Attention , Love Like a Mountain and Never so Blue , which made the visitors known in their homeland. In the summer of 1988 the two Swedes topped the Icelandic charts and made a guest appearance at the New Music Seminar at the Cat Club in New York. In 1989, work began on new songs, which were included on the 1990 album This Time the Good Guys Gonna Win . In the same year there was the Grammis for the pop group of the year .

The duo's records have been released in Germany, France, Canada, Japan and many other countries. The album This Time the Good Guys Gonna Win also appeared in the UK. The last joint production, Sky High , also dates from 1990.

Hjertstedt later worked as a member of Rednex on the hits Cotton Eye Joe and Old Pop in on Oak .
