Eva Charlotte Dahlgren-Attling (born June 9, 1960 in Umeå , Sweden ) is a singer , songwriter , author and actress . Dahlgren has been married to the Swedish actress and jewelry designer Efva Attling since 1996 and lives in Stockholm . Both work as activists for the rights of gays and lesbians in Sweden.

Life

After appearing on Swedish television in 1978, Eva Dahlgren, then 18, was contacted by music producer Bruno Glenmark. In the same year her debut album Finns det nån som bryr sej om was released , which was produced by Bruno and Anders Glenmark . A year later, in 1979, Eva Dahlgren took part in the Swedish preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest and reached 3rd place. Her big musical breakthrough came in 1991 with the album En blekt blondins hjärta , which sold over 500,000 times. At the “Grammis” gala, an event organized by the Swedish music industry (not to be confused with the Grammy Award , the American music industry's prize), she won awards in five categories in the same year: best artist, best album, best single, best Composer, best female artist in the pop / rock category. In 1995 Eva Dahlgren gave a concert at Stockholm Central Station together with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Esa-Pekka Salonen .

She announced her homosexuality in 1996 when she entered into her officially registered partnership with Efva Attling. The couple live on the island of Södermalm in Stockholm. The city awarded Eva Dahlgren the Bellman Prize in the same year . Dahlgren was nominated for her album "Petroleum och tång" in the category "Best Female Artist" for the Swedish music award "Grammis", which was awarded in Stockholm in 2008.
