Vital (grape variety)

The white wine variety Vital is an autochthonous variety from Portugal . It is widespread in many areas and occupies third place among the white grape varieties in Portugal with around 5,065 hectares of vineyards. It is recommended to grow them in the regions of Trás-os-Montes , Beira Litoral , Ribatejo , Beira Interior Sul , Beira Interior Norte and Oeste . Their cultivation is particularly widespread in the wine-growing region around Torres Vedras .

The early ripening vine produces simple, high-alcohol wines for quick consumption. They're often used in blends where they bring in alcohol.

The Vital grape variety is also known under the names Boal Bonifacio, Malvasia Corada, Malvasia Fina, Malvasia Fina de Douro, Malvasia Fina do Douro, Malvazia and Malvazia Corada.
