Vittorio Petrella Da Bologna

Vittorio Petrella Da Bologna (born November 4, 1886 in Bologna , † December 1, 1951 in the Hotel "Villa Olanda" in Luserna San Giovanni ) was an Italian painter , draftsman and illustrator of modernism . He is considered a representative of Futurism , but also mastered and worked with other painting styles. His motifs ranged from (Italian) landscapes, flowers to people and fantastic motifs. In the 1920s he belonged to the artist group Caffè Fiorio around Giovanni Grande in Turin. During this time Emilio Zanzi wrote of Petrella that he was "still undecided between future or futusistic impressionism and cubism."

Lucio Ridenti compared him to Henri Matisse in 1945 . In 1950 and 1974 the Turin Galleria d'arte Fogliato honored Petrella with a retrospective .
