Vitus Seipel

Vitus Seipel (born December 21, 1650 in Bad Landeck ; † March 9, 1711 ) was auxiliary bishop in Prague .

Vitus Seipel came from the County of Glatz , which belonged directly to Bohemia until 1763 and, in terms of church politics, to the Archdiocese of Prague until 1972. After studying Catholic theology , he was ordained a priest on March 5, 1678 . On January 3, 1701, he was appointed auxiliary bishop in Prague and at the same time titular bishop of Hierapolis in Isauria .

On August 7, 1701, he consecrated the newly built parish church of the Birth of Mary in his birthplace Landeck. From 1709 he worked as Prague Vicar General .
