Vladimir Beleaev

Vladimir Beleaev ( Russian Владимир Беляев ; born June 18, 1955 in Chiperceni, Orhei district, Moldovan SSR ) is a Moldovan - Romanian composer and musicologist and one of the most important contemporary composers in the Republic of Moldova .

Life

Beleaev began his musical training in his hometown, where he learned button accordion in the music school . In 1968 he won a national competition and received an invitation to complete his training in Chisinau at the grammar school for children with musical talent “E. Coca ”(now“ C. Porumbescu ”).

In 1981 he received his diploma in musicology, in 1992 his diploma in composition with B. Dubossarsky at the University of Music “G. Musicescu ”in Chisinau.

He then started working as a composer and musicologist and was also head of the Music Foundation of the Composers' Union of the Republic of Moldova, of which he was Deputy President from 1996 to 2002. He was appointed artistic director of the National Opera House of the Republic of Moldova and held this position from 2003 to 2008. 2012–2016 he was President of the Composers' Union of the Republic of Moldova. He is a member of the Composers Association of the Republic of Moldova (since 1988) and the Composers Association of Romania (since 2013).

In 1999 he was vice-president of “World Music Days” and since 1993 has been executive director of “The Days of New Music” at the international festival in Chisinau .

He is also a jury member at musical competitions, including for EUROVISION. Beleaev is committed to making music from the Republic of Moldova known and established worldwide. For this he was honored in 2000 with the highest award in the country “Special merits in the cultural life of the Republic of Moldova” (“Maestru in Arte”).

Beleaev's works have been performed in numerous countries, including Romania, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Greece, China, Denmark, Italy, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Spain and published by international publishers (Canada, Switzerland, USA).

Beleaev has lived in Munich since 2016 and works as a music arranger for the Munich Chamber Opera , the DaCapo Chamber Philharmonic, the Jewish Chamber Orchestra Munich , the Ismaning Music School and the Robert Wolf Project. He arranged there u. a. Works by Gustav Mahler, Wolfgang A. Mozart, Frédéric Chopin, George Gershwin and Maurice Ravel.
