Vladimir Budde (born December 24, 1952 in Wuppertal ; † August 8, 2011 in Aachen ) was a German chess player and author.
Life
Vladimir Budde grew up in Wuppertal and moved to Aachen to study. He completed his studies as a chemical engineer at the FH Aachen in 1976. From 1976 to 1979 he worked on research assignments in colloid chemistry at the FH Aachen. From 1980 he became a professional chess player and book author. In addition to chess, he has also published about Chinese chess . He gave numerous simultaneous performances and, among other things, played blind simultaneous against six opponents. After a mental illness, he returned to the FH Aachen and published a chemistry textbook. Later he was active in the Aachen art scene.

He was a prolific author of chess books in Germany and published, among other things, an early biography about Garry Kasparov , tournament books about the 1981, 1984/85 and 1985 world chess championships, chess textbooks targeting club players, introductions to Chinese chess and a school chemistry textbook.
