Vlado Kumpan

Vladimír "Vlado" Kumpan (born April 11, 1972 in Skalica ) is a Slovak trumpeter . He leads the brass band Vlado Kumpan and his musicians , with whom he achieved first place in the professional class in 2003 (95.6 points) and thus became "European champion of brass music".

Life

At the age of seven Kumpan received trumpet lessons in Gbely . At 14, he began studying at the Conservatory in Bratislava with Michal Janoš, which he completed in six years. Then Kumpan went to the University of Music in Bratislava with Kamil Roško, where he finished his studies after four years. During his studies he played for two years in the National Theater in Bratislava , then for two years in the Bratislava Radio Orchestra . He has played, toured and made recordings with numerous orchestras and bands. Kumpan is touring Europe several times a year as a guest soloist.
