Vlatko Andonovski (born September 14, 1976 in Skopje , Macedonia ) is a former American football player and current coach with Macedonian roots.
Career
player
Andonovski played for six years in Macedonian league football for the capital city clubs Rabotnički Skopje , Makedonija Skopje and Vardar Skopje . In the USA he started in indoor soccer with the Wichita Wings in the NPSL , as well as the Kansas City Comets , California Cougars and Philadelphia KiXX in the MISL .
Trainer
From 2010, Andonovski was Kim Røntved's assistant coach at the newly established indoor soccer franchise of the Missouri Comets . In December 2012 he was named the first head coach in the history of the NWSL franchise of FC Kansas City and reached the play-offs with Kansas in the 2013 season , in which they were in the semifinals with 2: 3 nV at eventual champions Portland Thorns FC failed. Nevertheless, Andonovski was elected Trainer of the Year in the NWSL and also moved up to head coach of the Missouri Comets from August 2013. In the summer of 2016, Andonovski quit his career with the Comets to focus on FC Kansas City. For the 2018 season he moved to Seattle Reign FC as the successor to Laura Harvey .
On October 28, 2019, he was named as the new coach of the United States women's national soccer team .
