Laura Harvey (* 15. May 1980 in Nuneaton ) is a former English football player and current - trainer , since the season 2018 , the franchise of Utah Royals FC in the National Women's Soccer League trained.
Career
player
Harvey played for Coventry City 's women's football division for six years as a teenager . She then worked for Wolverhampton Wanderers and Birmingham City LFC before ending her playing career at the age of 22 after a cruciate ligament rupture .
Trainer
Harvey then moved to the coaching staff of the Birmingham City LFC, where she worked as an assistant coach until 2006 and the following two years as head coach. At the same time, between 2005 and 2011, she was in charge of various youth national teams of the English Football Association as an assistant coach. In 2010 Harvey was the head coach of the series champions Arsenal LFC , with whom she won the championship in the FA Women's Premier League three times in a row from 2010 to 2012 and from 2011 in the FA WSL . She also won the FA Women's Cup with Arsenal in 2011 .
For the 2013 premiere season of the National Women's Soccer League , Harvey moved to Seattle Reign FC . With Seattle, she finished the 2014 and 2015 seasons as the first-placed team, but lost in the final of the play-offs to FC Kansas City .
In March 2017, Harvey briefly supervised the United States U-23 national team and took part with her in the four-nation tournament in La Manga .
On November 27, 2017, the new NWSL franchise Utah Royals FC announced the engagement of Harvey as a coach .
