Career

She made her first international A match at the age of 18 on March 18, 2003 in a 1-0 draw against Norway at the Algarve Cup . With the Canadian national soccer team , she finished fourth at the 2003 World Cup . In 2007 she was eliminated with Canada in the preliminary round of the World Cup. At the 2008 Summer Olympics , she and her team made it to the quarter-finals. There they lost 2-1 in extra time against eventual tournament winners United States . The greatest success was winning the CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup 2010 . On September 15, 2010, she made her 100th international match as the sixth Canadian player , and on January 21, 2011, she was the fourth Canadian player for the 100th time. At 1.54 m she was the smallest player in the Canadian squad for the World Cup and was used in the opening game against Germany. She was also used in the other two games and was still one of the better Canadian players, but they disappointed overall and were eliminated without winning a point.

She was also nominated for the 2012 Olympic Games . She was used in all six games and scored the 1-0 winner in stoppage time in the game for third place against France.

In the 2013 season she played in the newly founded National Women's Soccer League , the highest American professional league in women's football for Washington Spirit .

On April 7, 2013, one day after her 29th birthday, she made her 150th international match, but it was lost to England with a 0-1 goal in the second minute of stoppage time.

In 2015 she was appointed to the squad for the World Cup in her own country , where she was substituted on for a short stint in the quarter-finals against England, which was lost 2-1. In December 2015, she then took part with the senior national team in the four -nation tournament in Brazil , in which Canada finished second. She was also on the roster for the 2016 Summer Olympics qualifier , where Canada qualified for the Olympics. She was used in all games, but was only in the starting line-up three times. In the 6-0 win against Trinidad & Tobago , she scored the first goal just like two months earlier in the four-nation tournament. The Canadian team was able to repeat the result from London and again secured the bronze medal in the game for third place against hosts Brazil.

On October 14, 2018, she made her 200th international match in the semifinals of the CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup 2018 as the second Canadian, and her team reached the final with a 7-0 win against Panama and thus qualified for the 2019 World Cup. For the World Cup could not be considered due to injury. In February 2020 she was nominated for the Tournoi de France . There she was substituted on three times and scored a goal.
