Alexa Kennedy Newfield (born December 3, 1991 in Atlanta ) is an American football player .

Career

While studying at the University of Georgia and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill , Newfield played for the Georgia Bulldogs and North Carolina Tar Heels university teams there from 2010 to 2015 . In addition, she ran from 2009 to 2013 for the W-League participant Atlanta Silverbacks , with whom she won the championship in 2011. During the January 2016 college draft of the NWSL, she was selected in the third round at position 28 of the FC Kansas City franchise . Newfield made her NWSL debut on April 16, 2016 in a 0-1 home defeat to Western New York Flash as a substitute for Jen Buczkowski .
