Voice It is an a cappella vocal ensemble from Dresden. It was created in 2004 from the jazz choir of the St. Benno-Gymnasium Dresden for the Saxon choir competition in Hoyerswerda 2005. The members are mainly former students of the St. Benno-Gymnasium.

history

Voice It was founded in 2004 as a selection choir for the 4th Saxon Choir Competition in March 2005 by its director Wolfgang Ismaier from the St. Benno Gymnasium's jazz choir .

In this competition, the choir won 1st place in the jazz vocal et cetera category and was therefore qualified for the 7th German Choir Competition in May 2006 in Kiel . There Voice It won the second prize with the rating “very good”. In the subsequent state competition in 2009, Voice It was able to defend its 1st place, improve even further and take part in the 8th German Choir Competition 2010 "with outstanding success". In workshops with accomplished and experienced jazz musicians and choir directors such as B. Michael Betzner-Brandt, Daniel Mattar , Claus-Dieter Bandorf, Bertrand Gröger or Matthias Becker, the choir secures suggestions and ideas for future projects.

In the course of the final separation from the jazz choir of the St. Benno-Gymnasium at the beginning of the 2006/2007 school year, the choir, which until then only operated under the name of the competition choir of the jazz choir of the St. Benno-Gymnasium , gave itself the name Voice It To ensure ensemble work, Voice It - Acapella Vocal Ensemble eV was founded at the beginning of 2010 , with which the choir is organized as a non-profit association.
