Daniel Mattar
Daniel Mattar is a German jazz and tango singer.
Mattar studied at the Berlin University of the Arts . He became known through his collaboration with the jazz singer Lisa Bassenge . He won the North Rhine-Westphalia Jazz Prize of the City of Leverkusen and, as a member of the Mosaïq group, the Studio Prize of the Berlin Senate.
He performed with Bobby McFerrin at the Tempodrom Berlin and at a concert at the Berlin University of the Arts . He also works with Marc Ducret and Steve Coleman , with Jerry Granelli , the solo artist Hilde Kappes and the New York pianist Misha Piategorsky and, as the successor to Roger Cicero, with the Julia Hülsmann Trio (with Marc Muellbauer and Heinrich Köbberling ). He sang the leading role in a tango opera by Astor Piazzolla and the Evangelists in a jazz mass. As a tango singer he appears with the pianist Marie-Elsa Drelon .
Mattar taught singing at the Rostock University of Music and Theater (since 2001) and at the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin .
