The Voigt Ledge is a flattened and 2000 m high mountain ridge in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Convoy Range it protrudes 500 m above the heads of the Greenville Valley and the Merrell Valley , between which it lies. The ridge is about 3 km long and 2.5 km wide, tapering to the north.
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 2008 after Donald E. Voigt of Pennsylvania State University , who between 1995 and 2008 was involved in a total of twelve field research campaigns on glaciological , geophysical and seismological studies in various areas of Antarctica, including the Transantarctic Mountains .
