The Volšovka in Františkova Ves

The Volšovka (German Wolschowka ), on the upper reaches also Pstružný potok (German trout stream ) is a left tributary of the Otava in the Czech Republic .

course

The Volšovka rises north of Radkov ( Ratgebern ) in the Bohemian Forest . Its source is connected between the Kochánovský vrch ( Erbsenberg , 1004 m) and the Kamenac ( Girgalberg , 989 m) on the border between the natural park Kochánov and the conservation area Šumava . The upper reaches of the Volšovka leads at the northern foot of Vysoku hřbet ( high jerk , 1078 m) and the Březník (1006 m) past the monolayer Radkov, Busil ( Kriegseisenhof ) Žežulka ( Scheschulkahof ) Schöpfrův Dvůr ( Schöpferhof ) and Karlov ( Karlhof ) to the southeast. At Peklo ( Hölldörfel ) the brook turns in a northerly direction, along the Volšovka lie the villages Dolní Chlum ( Chumo ), Chlum ( Gut Chumo ), Světlá ( Zwislau ), Loučová ( Lukau ), Jiřičná ( Köhlendorf ), Kojšice ( Koischitz) ), Hrnčíř, Dub, Prachlík, Tamíř ( Tamir Mill ) and Trsice ( Trsitz ). The Volšovka then takes a south-easterly direction again and reaches via Františkova Ves ( Franzensdorf ), Hvížďalka ( Weißgschlössl ), Dolní Staňkov ( Unterstankau ), Volšovy ( Wolschhof ), Staré Volšovy ( Alt Wolschhof ), Horní Dvorce ( Oberhöfe ), Volšovekka and Páteček in one deep valley between the Svatobor (845 m) and the Volšovská Stráž ( Wolschhofer Warth , 790 m) the valley of the Otava . The last section of the Volšovka leads via Červené Dvorce ( Rothenhof ) parallel to the Otava to Sušice , where the stream flows around the old town to the south and finally flows into the Otava after 16.4 kilometers opposite the Capuchin monastery.

The upper reaches of the stream runs through the Šumava Protected Landscape Area, and between Dolní Chlum and Volšovka through the Kochánov Nature Park. The Žežulka nature reserve extends along the Volšovka between the Kubíčkův Dvůr ( Kubitschkahof ) desert and Dolní Chlum.

The historic Sterzmühle near Žežulka and the Jiřičná Castle are located on the Volšovka .
