Eddie Rouse (* 2. July 1954 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania as Edwin Rouse Jr. , † 7. December 2014 in Santa Monica , California ) was an American character actor in film and television. He became internationally known for his roles in movies such as Undertow , American Gangster , Pandorum , Alyce - Out of Control or Being Flynn .

life and career

Eddie Rouse was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1954. After attending Olney High School in Philadelphia, he began his career at the Bushfire Theater of the Performing Arts . He then attended the North Carolina School of the Arts . Rouse began his acting career in the late 1990s with appearances in various short films. He was first seen in the cinema in 2000 in David Gordon Green's drama George Washington in the role of Damascus. In the 2000s, this was followed by further engagements in cinema productions such as Undertow - In the Sog of Revenge , in Joel Schumacher's mystery thriller Number 23 , in American Gangster by director Ridley Scott . In 2009 he played the role of Leland in the science fiction horror film Pandorum . In 2011 Jay Lee's horror thriller Alyce - Out of Control , played the part of Rex. In the film drama Being Flynn directed by Paul Weitz from the year 2012 , he played alongside Robert De Niro , Paul Dano and Julianne Moore .

On television , Eddie Rouse appeared as an actor in only a few episodes. In 2007 he played in the TV series K-Ville . In 2009 he was seen on an episode of the television series Raising the Bar and in 2010 he made an appearance on The Whole Truth series .

For his role in the short film Rat Pack Rat , Rouse received the Jury Prize for Unique Vision at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival . Eddie Rouse died on December 7, 2014 at UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica at the age of 60. Rouse left a son and daughter. In the first episode of the Westworld series , in which he was seen in his last role, his work is remembered in the credits.
