Paul Dano
Paul Franklin Dano (born June 19, 1984 in New York ) is an American actor , director and rock musician.
Life
Paul Franklin Dano lived the first years of his childhood in New York. Later, his family moved to the state of Connecticut to New Canaan and finally in the small town of Wilton. After graduating from Wilton High School in 2002, Dano studied English Language Literature at The New School in New York .
As a twelve year old he got small stage roles on Broadway. His first film role was in The Newcomers in 2000 . The following year he chose director Michael Cuesta for the lead role in his film drama L.IE out. For his portrayal of a half-orphan whose father ends up in prison and who is then placed in the care of a pedophile , Dano received several awards and very positive reviews worldwide. In the following years he had several major supporting roles in Hollywood productions. His performances in two Oscar-winning films, the road movie Little Miss Sunshine (2006) and There Will Be Blood (2007), for which Dano received various awards, became particularly well known . 2013 was similarly successful for him when he took on roles in the two films Prisoners and 12 Years a Slave . In January 2018, Dano made his directorial debut Wildlife at the Sundance Film Festival .
In addition to his professional work as an actor, he is the lead singer and guitarist of the indie rock band Mook. The Eggs EP was released in 2007, followed by the album Mook in 2011 . The band publishes their music through self-distribution on the Internet.
Dano lives in New York and has been in a relationship with actress and screenwriter Zoe Kazan since 2007 .

Since Looper (2012), Dano's German voice has been the voice actor Timmo Niesner , who also spoke to him in There Will Be Blood (2007). Before that he was mostly spoken by Kim Hasper (e.g. in The Girl Next Door or Knight & Day ).
