Volker Cornelisen

Volker Cornelisen (* 1953 / 1954 ) is a former German basketball coach .

career

Cornelisen played for FC Schalke 04 from 1971 to 1976 and was coach of the "Royal Blues" in the 2nd Bundesliga from 1976 to 1978 . In 1979 he went to DEK Fichte / Hagener SV as a trainer and led the team in the 1979/80 game year to promotion from the second division to the basketball division . There, however, the league was missed in 1980/81. In the 1980s he was the coach of TuS 1925 Herten in the 2nd Bundesliga. Until 1996 he was the coach of the women of BG Dorsten in the second division, before the 1996/97 season he took up the position of coach at the regional league team BSV Wulfen and held it until 1998. From 1998 to 2001 he coached Schalke again, now in the regional league.

During the 2007/08 season, Cornelisen took over the position of assistant coach at BSV Wulfen (Regional League) and was the team's sporting director until 2015. During his tenure, among other things, the BSV was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga. In the summer of 2020, Cornelisen returned to responsibility at the BSV as a board advisor and member of the sports management.

Cornelisen's main job was a lawyer.
