Volker Derschmidt

Volker Derschmidt (born December 22, 1934 in Linz ) is an Austrian teacher, musician and folk music researcher.

Life

Volker Derschmidt was born as the son of folk music researcher Hermann Derschmidt . He graduated from the teacher training college in Linz and became a primary school teacher. He also worked as a folk music teacher at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz . Derschmidt is the author of numerous publications on the subject of folk music and also makes music himself. He is an advisory board member of the OÖ Volksliedwerk.

Derschmidt is married and has five children. He currently lives in Gunskirchen .
