The Raimund Zoder Medal is the highest honor currently awarded by the Federal Association of Austrian Folk Dance (BAG). The medal's namesake, Raimund Zoder , was a teacher living in Vienna who began to collect and write down folk songs and folk dances at the beginning of the 20th century . The irregular allocation has been carried out by the board of the BAG since it was created in 1965.

The front shows Raimund Zoder's head as a portrait relief and bears the text "Raimund Zoder 1882-1963" and was created by the academic sculptor Wilhelm Gösser. The back shows four concentric circles: The first (innermost) circle shows a stylized flower, the second the dance circle designed by Hilde Lager-Seidl, the third circle the circumferential writing “Dance is binding” (a quote from Raimund Zoder) and the fourth Circle the writing "Federal Association of Austrian Folk Dance". The third and fourth circles are interrupted by the Austrian coat of arms, the binding shield. The design of this page comes from Professor Otto Alois Schmidt.
