Raimund Zoder (born August 20, 1882 in Vienna ; † March 26, 1963 there ) was an Austrian folklore researcher and educator.

Life

Raimund Zoder was active in the school service from 1901 to 1931. In addition, he dealt with collecting and maintaining folk song , folk dance and folk music . In 1902 he published his first work in the magazine Das neue Volkslied , which he later directed himself. Zoder founded the Lower Austrian Folk Song Archive , in which he collected numerous previously unrecorded pieces. In addition to text, melody and historical-critical sorting, he also dealt with the written fixation of their choreography . In addition, he was practically active as a popular educator and from 1920 gave lectures and courses in Vienna and the federal states. In 1934 he received the professional title of professor . In 1945 he was appointed teacher in the school music department of the State Academy of Music and Performing Arts .

Zoder was buried at the Döblinger Friedhof (Gr. 3, R. 4. No. 10) in Vienna.
