Volker Schütz
Volker Schütz (* 1968 in Neunkirchen / Saar ) is a German experimental filmmaker and photo artist .
Life
Schütz studied information science , art history and linguistics at Saarland University . He has been working with Lomography since the 1990s and experimenting with self-made cameras, toy or pinhole cameras and self-made lenses. In the Laser Files project, he irradiates nude models with a laser and thus creates photographs with a computer graphic look. In the participation campaign, body part lengthening , he creates surreal and distorted full-body portraits with the help of a sliding shutter camera from the early 1980s.
In the documentary LOve & MOtion (2005) he was interviewed as a close-up lens expert.
He took part in several national film festivals with his short films : The pinhole camera film Heimat was shown in Braunschweig (Anadoma Festival), Iserlohn (Pinhole Festival) and in Poland (OFFO Festival). The pinhole camera film The Dance of Princess Hiroshibelle was presented in Dudelange (Octobre Rouge Festival) and at the Cannes Film Festival 2010 (short film corner). The short film Sag mir Himmel , created together with Janina Elena Kotlorz and a four-lens camera, was shown in the film show Greater Region (Saarbrücken / Nancy) and in the Luxembourg project D'Konschtkëscht for a month on eleven monitors in the Greater Region .
As a fictional mycology , it produces photos of modified mushrooms and creates machine art using artificial neural networks .
