Business area
The business area extends over three towns and communities in the Gütersloh district and the town of Dissen in the Osnabrück district in Lower Saxony . Overall, Volksbank Halle / Westf. eG seven branches, four of which are in Halle (Westphalia) and one each in Borgholzhausen, Werther (Westphalia) and Dissen.
history
The roots of the Volksbank Halle / Westf. eG go back to the founding of the savings and loan association Westbarthausen on July 9, 1887. The savings and loan associations in Hörste , Halle (Westphalia) and Künsebeck followed in 1889 and 1890. In 1926, the Gewerbebank eGmbH Halle / Westf. was founded, which was renamed Volksbank Halle / Westfalen eGmbH in 1943. In 1944, the war-related forced merger with the Halle savings and loan fund followed. Further milestones were the establishment of the Werther (Westf.) Branch in 1971 and the merger of the savings and loan funds Borgholzhausen with the savings and loan funds Borgholzhausen-Bahnhof and Halle (Westphalia) in 1972. The last merger so far took place in 1982, as today's Volksbank Halle / Westf. from the Savings and Loan Fund Halle and the Volksbank Halle. eG was created. In 2012 the Volksbank Halle / Westf. eG celebrates its 125th anniversary.
