The Volksbank Hildesheim eG was a regionally operating German cooperative bank based in Hildesheim and total assets of 728.2 million euros in 2012. It was the usual credit and deposit business made and securities services business. The brokerage business was mainly carried out with partners in the cooperative financial network. The proprietary trading business concentrated on investing liquid funds. Trading book business was carried out on a very small scale. Investment banking was not carried out.
In 2015 Volksbank Hildesheim eG merged with Volksbank eG Lehrte-Springe-Pattensen-Ronneberg to form Volksbank Hildesheim-Lehrte-Pattensen.

history

Inspired by the example of savings and loan funds in the current district of Hildesheim that had existed since 1895, today's Volksbank was founded on December 30, 1897. Mainly supported by the craft, it was called the Hildesheim savings and loan association. After many years of economic changes, the bank became Volksbank Hildesheim eGmbH in 1941. After the merger with Volksbank Leinetal in 1989, Volksbank Hildesheim-Leinetal eG was created. In 1999 it then merged with Volksbank Harsum and since then has been known as Volksbank Hildesheim eG.

Social ties and sponsoring

In the Hildesheim region, the Volksbank organized many events related to social, cultural, ecological and current issues. For some years now, the bank has been organizing the award of the "Stars of Sports", in which clubs that were socially very active were given awards. Promoting young people was also an important concern of the Volksbank. She supported competitions such as "Fair brings more" and the "International Youth Competition". Since 2010, one of the largest training fairs in the region has been held every year as the "Night of Applicants" with a total of over 40 exhibitors and over 5,000 visitors.
