history
The business activity of today's Volksbank Lübbecker Land eG began in 1887. At that time, the Oldendorfer Savings and Loan Association and the Savings and Loan Association Levern were founded. From the end of the 19th century until the 1920s, numerous other such associations and local banks were added. At its current headquarters in Lübbecke , the Gewerbebank eGmbH Lübbecke i. Westf., Which was renamed Volksbank Lübbecke eGmbH in 1941. In the 70s, 80s and 90s these regional individual institutes merged to form Volksbank Lübbecke eG and Volksbank Stemweder Berg eG. These finally merged with effect from January 1, 2002 to form Volksbank Lübbecker Land.
Business area
The bank is active in six municipalities: the cities of Lübbecke , Espelkamp , Rahden and Preußisch Oldendorf and the municipality of Stemwede in North Rhine-Westphalia and the joint municipality of Lemförde in Lower Saxony . The branch network consists of 22 branches.
Energy cooperative
In 2008 "die Energie für uns eG" was founded, which now operates seven photovoltaic systems and is involved in two biogas projects. Volksbank Lübbecker Land employs 16 trainees, mostly bank clerks and occasionally IT clerks , whereby it requires at least a secondary school diploma as a prerequisite . The bank offers one trainee a dual course of study for each year of training . This is carried out in cooperation with the vocational academy for banking in Hanover.
