The origin of the bank goes back to the year 1889, when the Lohner Savings and Loan Association was founded. Since 1953 the bank was called "Lohner Bank". In 2001 the Lohner Bank merged with the Volksbank Mühlen eG, which had emerged from the “Steinfelder Spar- und Kreditverein” from 1885.
