Kroge-Ehrendorf is a district of the city of Lohne . Geographically, Kroge forms the center of the place, while Ehrendorf surrounds Kroge (in terms of area).

The word "Kroge" comes from the word "Krug", because the place Kroge developed from an inn on Pickerweg , which runs through Kroge. The inn was in Hof Wassenberg. In the hereditary house there was also an inn for the carters who used this old trade route. The Wassenberg farm in Kroge-Ehrendorf has a long history and is first mentioned in a document in 1515 with Dirich Wassenborn. The word "Ehrendorf", on the other hand, comes from the word "Ähre" and thus describes the good soil for agriculture.

On the initiative of the last heiress of the farm, the widow Anna Krogmann-Wassenberg, a chapel and a monastery were built on the property in 1925 - today the St. Anna Stift and the Herz-Jesu Church in Kroge. They are a focal point of life in Kroge. The associated monastery is run by the Franciscan Sisters .

The local nuns also take an active part in secular events, such as the village and sports festival. Every year they present an approx. 50 m² Christmas crib . The strong influence of the church can also be seen in the numerous wayside crosses and St. Mary's grottos. In the immediate vicinity of the church there is the “Passion of Christ” in the forest, a hiking trail lined with sculptures that describes the way to the crucifixion.
