The Steinfelder Moor is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipality of Steinfeld and the town of Lohne in the Vechta district .
The nature reserve with the sign NSG WE 175 is 288 hectares . It borders the “ Diepholzer Moor ” nature reserve in the east . A few hundred meters to the north is the “ Südlohner Moor ” nature reserve .
The nature reserve is located between Steinfeld and Diepholz in the Diepholzer Moorniederung south of the B 214 , which borders the area to the north. It places a raised moor area under protection as part of the Great Moor . Large parts of the moor are forested. Pitted areas can regenerate through rewetting . Grassland can be found on the edge of the protected area .
The area is drained via various ditches to the Middle High Moor Canal and the Haverbecker Moorgraben and finally into the Hunte .
The area has been a nature reserve since August 2, 1986. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Vechta.
Since 2009 poisoned birds of prey have been found in the Steinfelder Moor and in the adjacent Diepholzer Moor .
