history
In 1865, a small group of liberal-minded Eberbach citizens who were committed to the idea of self-help founded the Eberbach advance payment association, following the example of the cooperative founding fathers Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen and Hermann Schulze-Delitzsch . The Neckargemünd advance payment association was founded three years later. Both advance payment associations are predecessor institutions of today's Volksbank Neckartal.
In 2001, Volksbank Eberbach-Hessisches Neckartal merged with Volksbank Neckargemünd-Meckesheim, which was created in 1998 from the merger of Volksbank Neckargemünd and Volksbank Meckesheim, to form Volksbank Neckartal. In 2009 the merger between Volksbank Neckartal and Volksbank Schwarzbachtal took place.
