The museum is located at the entrance to the town in the direction of Thiersheim on Staatsstraße 2176 , which becomes Wunsiedler Straße as a thoroughfare in the town. The museum entrance with parking lot is on the property at Wunsiedler Straße 14. The former farm at Wunsiedler Straße 12 is part of the open-air museum and is a listed building . The main building is a stable house with a hipped roof and pilaster strips . A stable vault has been preserved from the original stables . The adjoining barn blame carrying a gable roof and is partly solid and partly as a half-timbered house built. Another, more modern outbuilding was converted inside to accommodate the exhibition.

Decorative painting.

The open-air museum deals with the development history of the farm, which goes back to the 17th century, and the family history, which can be traced in the buildings and interior fittings. The black kitchen and the initially close coexistence of humans and animals under one roof in the stable house are typical of the region . The traditional and partly overlapping decorative painting , which was applied with the help of stencils , was made visible .

The equipment exhibition contains historical household appliances and agricultural equipment. It also covers the history of transportation , from everyday logistical tasks to the subject of flight and displacement .
