The folk dance group Schönbrunn is the largest youth folk dance group in the Vienna area .
Historical
In 1974 the folk dance group and choir of the ÖTB Vienna was founded by Dieter and Bärbel Schöfnagel as part of the Austrian Gymnastics Federation . This was the forerunner organization.
activities
Activities include:
- Choir singing : about 100 mainly Austrian folk songs are in the repertoire
- Folk Dancing : about 50 mostly young dancer interact with, the repertoire comprises about 120 alpenländische and foreign Volkstänze
- Game music : various line-ups bring Austrian folk music
- Performances and concert tours: the group does not only appear in Germany, including in the Austrian Parliament , it organizes concert tours almost every year to countries such as Norway , Sweden , Transylvania , Alsace , Switzerland , South Tyrol , Slovakia , Latvia , Lithuania , Poland , Brazil , Namibia , Romania , Russia .
