Borne is the name of an old Maerkisch s noble family . Branches of the family still exist today.

history

It is not certain whether Haoldus de Burnen, first mentioned in a document around 1140, belongs to this family. On November 3, 1264, Theodoricus de Bornem appears in a document in Havelland . The tribe series begins with Klaus von dem Borne († before 1484).

On February 12, 1913, "Ernst von dem Borne" and his descendants were accepted into the Dutch nobility with the title "Jonkheer".

The coat of arms shows in blue a slanted silver bar covered with three red roses. On the helmet with the blue-silver covers an open black flight.
