Vorarlberg Provincial Council

The Vorarlberg Provincial Council was an administrative body of the Austrian state of Vorarlberg from 1918 to 1920 . He was initially appointed by the provisional state assembly as the sole executive body and thus as the successor to both the state committee and the kuk Lieutenancy for Tyrol and Vorarlberg, but from November 14, 1918 only responsible for the autonomous state administration.

The members of the provisional state assembly , the predecessor of today's state parliament, designated the Vorarlberg state council as the sole administrative body for Vorarlberg in their constituent session on November 3, 1918. This executive body, under the leadership of a state president of the state assembly, should be responsible for both the state and the autonomous state administration.

On November 14, 1918, however, this structure was rejected by the Provisional National Assembly , which set up a state government as state administration on behalf of the state government and the state council as an autonomous administrative body of the state parliament with the law on the assumption of state power in the states . Both collegial bodies were headed by the governor in personal union.

With the introduction of the Federal Constitutional Law , which was established by the state government as the highest state administrative authority and the governor as the bearer of the indirect federal administration , the Vorarlberg state council was absorbed into the new state government. The other previous members of the state council became members of the new state government.
