Vorderheubach (formerly also: Heidebach , Vorder-Heubach or Heubacher Hof ) is a district of the municipality of Heiligkreuzsteinach in the Odenwald . The place forms with Lampenhain , Bärsbach , Hilsenhain and the small homestead Hinterheubach the district Lampenhain. Until December 31, 1974 it belonged to the municipality of Lampenhain, which was then united with Heiligkreuzsteinach. Around 300 people live here.

Vorderheubach is located about one and a half kilometers west-northwest of the center of Heiligkreuzsteinach at an altitude of about 350 to 400  m above sea level. NN on the northern slope of a mountain foothill between the valleys of the Vorderheubach in the south, which flows directly into the Steinach , and the Leutersbach , which reaches the Steinach further up over the Lenzenbach . Coming from Heiligkreuzsteinach, the district road K 4120 climbs through the village in a double loop on the mountain ridge that divides the valleys and then continues on this west and up towards Kohlhof.

Attractions

East-below Vorderheubach located on the front mouth spur of the front Heubach the ruins of the medieval castle Waldeck . It was in the second half of the 13th century by the rays Bergern built to consolidate their rule over some villages in the Odenwald. In 1357 they sold the Waldeck estate with the castle and associated villages to the Count Palatine . Since then, the area has been known as the " Waldeck Winery ".
