A foreskin piercing (also Oetang ) is a male genital piercing through the foreskin of the penis , Praeputium penis . It can only be performed on an uncircumcised or partially circumcised man. In women, there is an analogous clitoral hood piercing .

The piercing can be placed anywhere, but preferably closer to the front edge. A foreskin piercing that is pierced right around the top is called a kuno piercing .

Occasionally, several or pairs of opposite puncture canals are connected with a barbell or ball closure ring each , so that the foreskin is held together over the glans and can no longer be pulled back, similar to a phimosis . Allegedly, this variant was used as a chastity lock by the ancient Romans .

This method was used in Burma under the name Oetang .
It was given to adolescents "to protect" against masturbation and was later occasionally used in BDSM circles. The should intimate hygiene (especially because of smegma are) always observed.

The piercing can have a sexually stimulating effect due to the friction on the glans. Straight or slightly curved as well as ring jewelry are suitable for use. The healing time is between four and eight weeks.
