Cultural and sexual references
Occasionally, several or pairs of opposite puncture canals are connected with a barbell or ball closure ring each , so that the foreskin is held together over the glans and can no longer be pulled back, similar to a phimosis . Allegedly, this variant was used as a chastity lock by the ancient Romans .
This method was used in Burma under the name Oetang .
It was given to adolescents "to protect" against masturbation and was later occasionally used in BDSM circles. The should intimate hygiene (especially because of smegma are) always observed.
The piercing can have a sexually stimulating effect due to the friction on the glans. Straight or slightly curved as well as ring jewelry are suitable for use. The healing time is between four and eight weeks.
